Dental bridges placement
1. Healing and Recovery - Dental bridges will replace one or more freshly-extracted teeth. If this procedure is chosen, it needs a bit of time for the gum to heal completely.
2. Anesthesia - In case of an extraction and once the gum is fully healed, the procedure then commences with desensitization of the abutment tooth. 3. Trimming the abutment teeth. When the gums are numb, the abutment teeth will be trimmed to fit the crown. The abutment teeth must be shaped parallel and allow for easy simultaneous mounting of the crowns to be placed. 4. Impression. When the abutment teeth and the gum space is in place, it is not time for the impression. The impression is taken by your dentist and will be sent to the dental lab for fabrication. The specification of the teeth and the color surrounding the teeth is also given to the lab. 5. Temporary Bridge. During the procedure, the enamel will be trimmed away from the teeth. This will leave your teeth weak and sensitive. The dentist will place a temporary impression that will fit to your teeth. 6. Construction. The bridge will be made in the lab according to the specification and impression sent by the dentist. The process would take several weeks to complete. 7. Fitting. The temporary bridge is removed and the permanent bridge is placed. If the bridge doesn’t fit or when it caused discomfort, then adjustments will be made. Once its placed, the addition will be placed permanently to the teeth. 8. Routine Check-up. A routine check-up will be schedule for a few months to see if there has been any discomfort or pain. When you have such experiences, the necessary adjustments will be made. To find out more about dental bridges, you can view more.
